A new tool is available to Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers to help them identify whether a customer’s iPhone is unpredictably resuming.

Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers can run the new “System Stability” diagnostic tool when a customer with an iPhone 11 or newer reports that their device is unpredictably restarting. This tool analyses the device’s analytics logs to see if multiple unplanned restarts have occurred over the previous 14 days.

According to a report by MacRumors, Apple instructs workers to proceed with a hardware repair if the diagnostic reveals that unexpected restarts have occurred. Apple urges professionals to direct customers to a new support article with hardware and software troubleshooting recommendations if the diagnosis is successful.

In comparison to currently available techniques, such as manually checking analytics logs for kernel panics or recovering the device, the new diagnostic tool gives Apple personnel a quicker approach to ascertain whether a customer’s iPhone is unintentionally rebooting.

The second version of Apple Service Toolkit includes a new “System Stability” diagnostic suite.
