Appeal against Epic vs. Apple has been filed by U.S. antitrust officials

In order to support Epic’s appeal of the App Store of Apple rules, the US Department of Justice has asked to take part in the hearing on the appeal.

In October, Apple and Epic Games will return to court to contest several antitrust decisions from an earlier legal dispute.

According to court records cited in the report, American Department of Justice representatives are now requesting to participate in the oral arguments.

The Justice Department stated in the filing that the country “believes that its participation in oral argument would be helpful to the court, especially in explaining how the errors (in the interpretation of antitrust law) could significantly harm antitrust enforcement beyond the specific context of this case.”

Neither side objected to the action. According to Apple, the Justice Department’s argument should be taken from Epic’s time limit or extended.

Apple defeated Epic Games in court, but the company disagrees with the “anti-steering” clauses in the decision.

Epic contends that the judge committed far too many legal errors in her decision and is requesting a full retrial.
