The Greatest Beer Run Ever, an upcoming Apple TV+ original movie starring Zac Efron, has debuted its first trailer. It is scheduled to air on September 30.

The true account of Chick Donahue, who left his New York home in 1967 to deliver beer to his pals fighting in Vietnam, is told in “The Greatest Beer Run Ever.”

Due to his shorts and Hawaiian shirts, Chick Donahue is mistaken for a CIA official while travelling, taking a ride on a Merchant Marine ship, and carrying beer through the jungle.

It will debut on September 30 and features Zac Efron.

Apple described the movie as “Chickie (Zac Efron) wants to assist his friends fighting in Vietnam, so he does something crazy—personally send them American beer.” “Chickie’s life and viewpoint are swiftly altered by what begins as a well-intentioned quest. based on a real account.”

Efron will play Donohue, and Picking, Allen, and Renaux will portray Rick Duggan, Bobby Pappas, and Tommy Collins, who is Donohue’s friends. As Kevin McLoone, a different acquaintance Donohue encounters along the way, Ropp is cast in the role.

The original screenplay of Apple was written by Peter Farrelly, Brian Currie, and Pete Jones and is based on the Chick Donahue and J.T. Molloy book “The Greatest Beer Run Ever: A Memoir of Friendship, Loyalty, and War.” Director Farrelly, best known for “Green Book,” also produced.

Together with Don Granger, Dana Goldberg, and David Ellison of Skydance, Andrew Muscato produced the movie.

The movie “The Greatest Beer Run Ever” will be available in theatres starting on September 30. On the same day, it will start streaming on Apple TV+ as well.
