iOS and iPadOS 15.6.1, which are minor updates to the original iOS and iPadOS 15 operating systems, were released by Apple today. After releasing iOS 15.6 and iPadOS 15.6 with new Live Sports features and bug fixes, Apple has now released iOS 15.6.1 and iPadOS 15.6.1.
The free updates for iOS 15.6.1 and iPadOS 15.6.1 are available in the Settings app and can be downloaded to all compatible devices. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to access the latest software.
The updates, according to Apple’s release notes, contain bug fixes and security upgrades. Both iOS 15.6.1 and iPadOS 15.6.1 fix vulnerabilities in the WebKit and kernel that might result in arbitrary code execution. Apple claims to be aware that these flaws may have already been actively exploited in the wild, making an immediate upgrade necessary.
Moreover it is given that Apple is currently concentrating on the iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 updates, which are scheduled to debut this fall, these may be some of the last improvements to the iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 operating systems.
