In several nations throughout the world, Apple’s sluggish iPhone charger with a dated 5W USB connector is no longer offered for sale..

According to the Japanese site Mac Otakara, Apple’s online store in Japan is currently sold out of the 5W charger. A quick spot check revealed that the charger is also out of stock or altogether missing from Apple’s online shop in several other nations, including China, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand.

The iPhone 3G through the iPhone 11 all came with a small 5W charger from Apple, although throughout time, the charger saw a few minor changes, partly as a result of two voluntary safety recalls that Apple issued in a few countries. The 5W charger has a USB-A connector but lacks fast charging capabilities, unlike Apple’s more recent USB-C chargers.

Apple no longer includes a charger with iPhone 12 and newer models; instead, the iPhone 11 Pro models came with a speedier 18W USB-C charger in the package.
