Apple launched macOS Monterey 12.5.1 which features security edits


A minor upgrade to the macOS Monterey operating system, which debuted in October 2021, was issued by Apple today as macOS Monterey 12.5.1. One month after the release of macOS Monterey 12.5 comes macOS Monterey 12.5.1.

All compatible Macs can download the macOS Monterey 12.5.1 update using the Software Update section of System Preferences.

Apple’s release notes state that all users should upgrade to macOS Monterey 12.5.1 because it increases the security of the operating system. The patch fixes vulnerabilities in the kernel and WebKit that could allow arbitrary code execution. Apple claims to be aware that these flaws may have already been actively exploited in the wild, making an immediate upgrade necessary.
