Apple is planning to reinstate a function that was previously removed from the iPhone and iPad for undisclosed reasons, an uncommon occurrence for the smartphone developer.

Apple has confirmed in a developer forum post that it will bring back the ability for consumers to modify the playback speed of songs within Apple Music via third-party applications. It was deleted in iOS 15.4, but it has been verified that it will be re-added in the iOS 15.5 beta.

Playback speed controls for non-audiobooks can only be achieved using third-party software, as Apple Music does not support this. Perfect Tempo, a well-liked app in the App Store, was created with this goal in mind.

With iOS 15.4.1 as the current release, it is predicted that the new update, which will include the playback capability, will be made available to all users before the end of the month of May.

Re-evaluating our prior decision to disable adjusting playback rates for subscription material from Apple Music in third-party applications, we concluded that we could safely restore this functionality again, just like before the introduction of iOS 15.4. Consequently, this issue has been addressed in iOS 15.5 beta 4, “says Apple engineer Joe Kun. “

In response to the admission by Apple, one user stated that they were “floored” by the decision to bring back the functionality, while another user simply stated that “this is such amazing news indeed!” Even though it might not be the most significant upgrade, it is a useful quality-of-life update that many people have been hoping to have reinstated ever since it was removed.

Ahead of its official debut, Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro specs have allegedly leaked months before, giving us a sense of what to expect from the company’s newest smartphone.

Android users, on the other hand, are about to receive a big security upgrade that will vastly increase the privacy of users across all Android devices.
