Apple’s software testing program participants have been given access to the second public beta versions of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, tvOS 16, and macOS Ventura.
The second public beta copies of the new software updates are expected to be nearly identical to the fourth developer beta equivalents, which were issued on Wednesday.
Users who are interested can sign up for Apple’s Beta Software Program and then download the latest betas from the online page linked to the program.
Along with numerous other improvements, iOS 16 introduces widget support on the Lock Screen, the option to edit or delete individual iMessages, and the ability to pay for purchases with Apple Pay afterwards.
A build number of 20A5328h has been assigned to both the iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 public betas. The build number for the public beta version of macOS Ventura is 22A5311f. The build number for the public beta version of tvOS 16 is 20J5344f.
Apple did not release a second public beta of watchOS 9 on Wednesday, either, as the company did not release a fourth developer beta.
A new tool called Stage Manager in iPadOS 16 brings the tablet and Mac even closer together, allowing users to multitask in separate windows. A Medications app, new faces, heart rate zones, and other fitness and health features have been added to Apple’s watchOS 9 operating system.
TvOS 16 is a modest version when compared to its predecessors, but it still offers new features such as support for more game controllers, enhancements to the Smart Home, and cross-platform compatibility.
