WWDC 2022 was the venue for Apple’s unveiling of the next iteration of its Watch OS. Apple unveiled WatchOS 9, its most recent version, at the event. Improved health and medicine functions are included in the latest WatchOS 9 for iPhone users.
Apple Watch Series 3 owners, on the other hand, will be unable to take advantage of these additional capabilities. In an official blog post, Apple confirmed the release of WatchOS 9 for Apple Watch Series 4 and up. Wearables running iOS 16 and Apple Watch Series 4 will be able to download watchOS 9 as a free software update this fall, according to the firm.
For the benefit of those who aren’t familiar, Apple Developer Program members can download the watchOS 9 developer beta from developer.apple.com. WatchOS users will be able to download a free public beta from beta.apple.com starting next month.
According to the tech company, there are more watch faces to select from, with deeper complications that provide additional information and the ability to personalize them. The most recent OS version will also have an improved Workout app, advanced analytics, perspectives, and training experiences inspired by high-performing athletes to help users take their workouts to the next level.
An FDA-cleared AFib history function is also included in WatchOS 9’s new Sleep app, which helps users better understand their sleep patterns and their health. This software makes it easier for users to manage, comprehend, and track their drugs in a discreet and convenient way.
