The iPhone 14 Pro Max is expected to have a pill and a hole cutout instead of a notch, and according to today’s leak, the pill will have a width of 7.15mm and the pinhole will have a diameter of 5.59mm. Photos show that a space will be left between the pill and the hole cutout. As a point of reference, the notch on the iPhone 13 Pro Max measures 26.83mm in width.
Additionally, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is expected to have smaller 1.95mm bezels than the 13 Pro Max’s 2.42mm bezels, increasing the screen-to-body ratio even more.
When it comes to the phone’s dimensions, it is expected to be 160.7 millimetres in height, 78.5 millimetres in width, and have a depth of 12.16 millimetres (including the camera bump). There is a 3.60mm to 4.18mm increase in the thickness of the camera bump that may be to blame for this apparent increase in depth.
The 48MP primary sensor, which will take the place of the 12MP camera, appears to have thickened the bump. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously predicted that the camera would be 25 to 35 percent larger than the 12MP camera and that the height of the 7P lens would rise by 5 to 10 percent.
A 1/1.3-inch sensor with 1.22-micron pixels has been leaked by a Weibo account called “Fishing 8,” which has no prior track record. In comparison to the iPhone 13 Pro, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a smaller main sensor with larger pixels of 1.9 microns. Pixel binning, a technique for combining data from multiple pixels, is likely to be used by Apple when it is necessary, such as at night.
Returning to the leaked schematics, Apple reduced the notch’s size last year by combining the flood illuminator and dot protector into a single unit and moving the earpiece speaker to the top bezel. According to rumours, the earpiece speaker’s height could be slashed from 1.52mm to 0.57mm this year.
Both the iPhone 14 Pro and its smaller sibling, the iPhone 14 Pro, are expected to have screens that measure 6.1 inches diagonally. Both phones are expected to be powered by a new 4nm A16 Pro chip, making them significantly faster than today’s best smartphones. As far as we know, the standard models won’t be changing much. It’s worth noting that the iPhone 13 mini will be replaced by the iPhone 14 Max, which has a 6.7-inch screen.
