Apple today announced the launch of a repair program for the Apple Watch Series 6 to address an issue that can cause a small percentage of the devices to display a permanently blank screen in certain circumstances.

There’s a bug in the 40mm Apple Watch Series 6 that affects watches manufactured in the period between April 2021 and September 2021. An Apple Watch Series 6 owner can use the serial number checker on the website to see if their device is eligible for a repair program by entering their serial number.

Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will repair any devices that have been affected by this issue at no cost to the user.

Apple Watch Series 6 models that meet the program’s criteria will be covered for two years after their initial retail sale.
