Apple recently announced that it would no longer be making iPods, but its cultural impact is still felt today, as evidenced by a new Airpods commercial that uses Apple’s classic iPod “silhouette” advertising from the aughts.
To bring the advertisement right up to date, however, it features Harry Styles, who is swiftly becoming a cultural figure in his own right. Styles performs the first single off his next album, which is titled Harry’s House.

Aside from one significant distinction, the Airpods ad borrows heavily from the look and feel of the iconic iPod ads, which featured performers such as Paul McCartney, U2, Bob Dylan, and Coldplay. Apple’s in-the-ear Airpods are the only tech featured in this ad instead of the headphone wires that were featured in the original ads.
