After using the iPhone 8, I switched to the iPhone 12. On the iPhone 12, everything went smoothly. However, I had difficulty locating the iPhone 12’s battery percentage. As a result, I searched for a way how to show battery percentage on iPhone 12 permanently.

The top right corner of the screen displayed the battery percentage earlier on older iPhones with a simple battery toggle in the Settings app. In the case of iPhone 12 devices, it has become a bit confusing for new users. Thankfully, we have discovered a way to make the battery percentage icon permanent on iPhone.

How to show battery percentage on iPhone 12 Permanently?

This information isn’t displayed by default on earlier versions. To view it, you have to enable the battery percentage option. The battery percentage is currently enabled by default. Simply locate it. It is important to note that if you are upgrading your iPhone from one without Face ID, you will see that there is no longer enough horizontal space to display the battery icon and the battery percentage together thanks to the camera notch.

  • The first step to viewing the battery percentage on the iPhone 12 is opening Control Center from the top right corner of the screen.
  • The battery percentage can be seen on the screen in the upper right corner, right next to the battery icon. Here is your iPhone’s remaining battery life.
  • The Control Center can now be closed again by swiping up or tapping the background. In addition to widgets, other options are also available to display battery percentage more permanently.
  • In other words, all you have to do if you want to show the battery percentage periodically is to add that code to your application. Consider adding a widget to your home screen if you would like to easily track the battery’s current status.

How to Show battery permanently using widgets on the iPhone 12?

In response to the research, Apple introduced a new set of widgets in iOS 14, which could be included not only in the Today View but also on the home screen. In addition, the Batteries widget options look much better; nevertheless, you won’t always see the percentage unless you choose the right option.

You can open the widgets gallery by long-pressing the wallpaper on your home screen, then tapping the plus (+) sign in the top left corner. Long-pressing the Batteries widget in the recommended section will allow you to get more information on it. Once you have done this, drag and drop the widget to the desired location. Alternatively, you can also search for Batteries if you don’t see a particular size or don’t want it.

There is a widget you can add to your iPhone 12 so that it shows your iPhone’s battery percentage. Using the built-in widgets in iOS 14, which are pre-installed on the iPhone 12, you can now add a battery percentage widget to your home screen. The battery percentage can be permanently displayed on your iPhone 12 if you follow a few easy steps.

The following steps can be taken:

  1. Start by tapping and holding any empty area on the home screen.
  2. In the widget picker, tap the “+” symbol in the top-left corner.
  3. You will need to search for “Batteries” in order to locate the built-in batteries widget.
  4. Select the format that you would like to display on your home screen or widget screen. During this step, you are given the option to choose the widget style. Click and drag to view the options. In addition, the Batteries widget will display battery information for Apple devices.
  5. Tap on Add Widget to add the widget you want.
  6. Your home screen is now updated with the widget. If you want it in a particular location, move it there and then tap Done.

If you are interested in showing the battery percentage prominently on your iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, or iPhone 12 Pro, this widget will be useful. In iOS 14, three different formats are available to choose from so you can customize your widgets or home screen. There is a basic square on the left that offers no percentages, but two of them show full percentages on the right.

To your knowledge, Battery offers three widget sizes: a small one that occupies four app spaces, a medium one that occupies eight app spaces, and a large one that occupies 16 app spaces.

The one is added by choosing its size, then dragging and dropping it to the desired place. It is also possible to drop it into place by clicking Add Widget. At the moment, if your iPhone has no other connected devices, such as Bluetooth headphones, you can use any of the three sizes.

Some ways to Display Battery Percentage on an iPhone

Moreover, iOS 14 introduces widget support that can be placed on your home screen. In widgets, you’ll find a few options for batteries, but you cannot be able to see the iPhone’s battery percentage unless you choose the correct widget.

A widget can then be added by long pressing on the home screen, then tapping the plus sign in the top left corner to bring up the widgets menu.  And other options. When you use a GoPro, Quik will be able to determine how fast you are going in the video. Your video will be stored in the Camera Roll once you have finished recording it.

Choose “Batteries” from the widget list. One option takes up four app spaces (2 x 2), another occupies eight app spaces (4 x 2), and a third option occupies 16 app spaces (4 x 4). The widget can be added by dragging and dropping or by hitting “Add widget”.

There is one drawback: While each widget shows you the battery life, if you have any other connected device, such as Apple Watch, then only the large and medium-sized widgets will display you your battery life.

1.  Use Siri to check battery percentage

Siri has the ability to tell you the battery status if you ask her the following questions. Among all the options, you could simply ask Siri to tell you the current battery percentage for your iPhone. You could also ask Siri the following questions:

  • Can you tell me what my battery percentage is?
  • How much battery is there?
  • What is the battery life?
  • Does the battery need charging?
  • What is the remaining battery power?

2. Plug in your iPhone and start charging it

You will be able to see the current battery percentage as soon as your iPhone 12, 12 Pro, or 12 Pro Max starts charging, but only if the screen is currently sleeping or when you’re using a Lightning cable.

It will be replaced for a few seconds by the battery icon and the percentage of battery charge (e.g., “75% charged”) before the date and time return. If you were on the lock screen already, the date and time would appear briefly before the battery icon. During sleep mode, the display would display the battery icon and percentage for a moment before the lock screen appears.

3. Turn Off Your iPhone’s Charging

With the iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, or 12 Pro Max, removing the device from a power source will wake the display in the same way as Option 5. Therefore, the date on the lock screen will show the current “Charged” level as a percentage, e.g., “55% charged.” This works whether you were already on the lock screen or the display was asleep.

4. Go to the Battery Settings

There are a number of other options on the list, but this one is the least effective. Open Settings and select “Battery” to view your battery statistics. It will show you what percentage your iPhone was last charged to, e.g., “Last Charged to 85%.” But that doesn’t necessarily mean your current level unless you just stopped charging it.

On the other hand, you can calculate your battery percentage in the Battery Level chart based on certain points in time over the last 24 hours.

5. Utilize third-party apps

In case you aren’t satisfied with the above options, third-party applications can show the battery percentage in the app or widget on your iPhone. You can choose from the following apps:

Battery HD+

You can see a detailed view of your battery performance using the app. It provides voltage, temperature, as well as battery usage information. With the battery percentage displayed in the widget, it shows your iPhone usage habits as well. Additionally, you can modify the widget’s appearance with a variety of color themes. It can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store.

Battery Life Doctor Pro

Your battery life is improved by using this app, which provides information about your battery life and tips for improving it over time. The app is compatible with iOS 11 and older, so if you own an older iPhone, you’ll have no trouble using it. Download it at the App Store.
