iPhone 14 series is expected to get a significant improvement in its front camera

The iPhone 14 series is scheduled to be released later this year by Apple. Rumors and leaks about the Apple iPhone 14 series have been around for a long time and have given us a good idea of what to expect from the new devices. Following a fresh rumour from well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it appears as though the upcoming smartphone will feature significant enhancements to the front camera.

According to Kuo, autofocus capability for selfies and videos is coming to Apple’s front camera in the next iPhone model. For the time being, all iPhone models come equipped with a fixed-focus lens.

In terms of hardware, Kuo predicts that the front-facing 5P lens will be swapped out with a 6P lens in the coming months. Six layers of lenses reduce light distortion in the 6P arrangement, for those who aren’t familiar with this technology. Using a 6P lens on the Apple iPhone 14 will improve the quality of the photographs and videos it produces.

As in prior years, Apple is expected to release four flagship smartphones—the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Max, the iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max—much like in previous years. The Pro models of the iPhone 14 series are rumoured to have a pill-shaped camera with a punch hole in the middle.

In addition, larger camera bumps are expected to accommodate new 48MP sensors in the upcoming phones. It is expected that the iPhone 14 series will take full advantage of the new iOS 16 features that Apple is introducing. Only a few of these capabilities were shown at the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference in 2022 (WWDC 2022).
