iPhone can be charged twice as fast with Apple’s new MagSafe battery pack

There are two models of the MagSafe Battery Pack that are compatible with Apple’s iPhones, 12 and 13. When it was released in July of 2021, it wasn’t one of the most popular Apple accessories. Customers were miffed that their iPhones could only be charged at a maximum of 5 watts because of their large size.

According to reports, however, iPhone 12 Mini users have found it quite appealing, as the smartphone’s major flaw was its limited battery life. In general, charging with a 20W power adapter is still the fastest method, but the MagSafe Battery Pack is a good option for those on the go. Apple has updated its support page with instructions on how to update MagSafe battery packs.

An Apple device like an iPhone, iPad, or Mac can be used to perform this task. It takes about 5 minutes for the battery pack to update the software on an iPad or a Mac, but connecting it to an iPhone while connected can take up to a week.

It’s as simple as connecting the device to your iPhone and checking the MagSafe Battery Pack firmware version in Settings/General/About/MagSafe Battery Pack to see if it’s the most recent update available. It costs Rs 10,900 in India and adds 1,460mAh of extra battery life to compatible iPhones, making it the most expensive battery pack on the market. This is true for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series.

When using the MagSafe Battery Pack, the additional charge your iPhone will receive is dependent on the model of iPhone you have. For the iPhone 12 and 13 mini, Apple claims a 70 percent increase in battery life with the MagSafe Battery Pack (sold separately). You can save up to 60 percent on the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro. If you buy the iPhone 12 Pro Max or iPhone 13 Pro Max, Apple claims you’ll save up to 40%.
