“Squid Game” star Hoyeon is reportedly moving to the United States for her next project, a starring role in the upcoming Apple series Disclosure, according to Variety. Sacha Baron Cohen has been confirmed as a cast member, joining Cate Blanchett, Kevin Kline, and Kodi Smit-McPhee in the film, which was previously reported to be in development. It will follow Catherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett), “a successful and respected television documentary journalist whose work has been built on revealing the concealed transgressions of long-respected institutions,” as described in the Renee Knight novel “Disclosure”. Her worst fear comes true when an intriguing novel written by a widower (played by Kline) appears on her nightstand, revealing a story she thought was long since forgotten. To quote Hoyeon, “working for Catherine Ravenscroft will be her big break,” as she portrays a “motivated, hard-working, eager-to-please” Kim. The series will be written, directed, and executive produced by Alfonso Cuarón (“Roma,” “Gravity”). Previously, he had only written and directed one episode of an original series. “Disclaimer” has yet to be given a release date or a release timeline.
As first reported by Deadline, Adina Porter (Underground) and Clark Backo (Letterkenny) will star in an upcoming Apple TV+ drama series called “The Changeling.” Previously announced cast member LaKeith Stanfield will join the show based on Victor LaValle’s New York Times best-seller as will the two new actors. According to the synopsis, “The Changeling is a fairytale for grown-ups…a horror story…a parenthood fable, and an exhilarating journey through a New York City you didn’t know existed.” Kelly Marcel (“Cruella”) will pen the scripts and serve as the showrunner for the Annapurna/Apple Studios project. The film will be directed by Melina Matsoukas (“Queen & Slim”) as well. Casting director Mary Vernieu is behind the show’s casting efforts.
