Nominations for Apple TV+ have been announced by the Hollywood Critics Association Awards


Apple TV+ has earned more than 50 nominations in a wide range of genres, including documentaries, comedies, dramas, anthologies, and variety sketch series.

A record-breaking 53 nominations for Apple were announced on Thursday by the Hollywood Critics Association (HCA). The popular psychological thriller “Severance” has been nominated for 12 awards, including Best Drama Streaming.

“Ted Lasso” has received the most Emmy nominations for a comedy series for the second year in a row, with a total of 12 nods. There are four writing and directing nods, as well as a Best Streaming Series nod for the show, as well as nominations for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Jason Sudeikis (Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple).

In a broader sense, “The Morning Show,” “Pachinko,” and “Severance” were the three series that Apple had competing for the title of Best Streaming Series, Drama.

“The Afterparty,” “Dickinson,” “Shmigadoon!” and “Ted Lasso” all contributed to the network’s haul of nominations for Best Streaming Series, Comedy.

“Acapulco,” “Pachinko,” and “Prehistoric Planet” were nominated for the Best International Series Emmy and the Best Streaming Documentary or Non-Fiction Series Emmy, respectively.

Apple’s films, documentaries, and series have been nominated for 1,062 awards, with 246 wins to date. The year is 2022, and “CODA,” an original film produced by Apple TV+, wins the Best Picture Oscar.

According to the website for the Hollywood Critics Association, which was established in 2016, the organization was “formed to highlight the value of online critics and encourage, support, and develop underrepresented voices inside the business.”

On August 14, the Hollywood Critics Association will present their awards at a ceremony that will be held at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
