The iPhone beta version of WhatsApp has been updated. In order to better support iOS 15, this theme has been darkened. Recently, WhatsApp added support for iOS 15 notifications, including Focus mode and the ability to see profile photos in the Notification Center, as well as support for iOS 15’s Notification Center.
In a separate release for beta testers, WhatsApp includes a list of bug fixes. The latest version of WhatsApp for Desktop fixes the issue of profile photos not being shown. In the near future, WhatsApp Web may incorporate the fix that is currently being tested on desktops by beta testers.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp for iOS beta 18.104.22.168 is now available in a darker theme. iOS 15’s UI elements are a good match for the replacement.
WABetaInfo provides a screenshot to show the difference between the toolbar on the bottom of the screen appearing in black instead of grey. The latter is available in the current WhatsApp release, whereas the former is available in the new beta release of the application.
More beta testers are now receiving notifications that include their profile photos. However, the experience was first made available to a select group of users in January.
Beta versions of WhatsApp for iOS will bring bug fixes and better compatibility with iOS 15
Furthermore, the latest beta release of WhatsApp for iOS is expected to improve compatibility with iOS 15 and address bugs. Even if the beta version is downloaded, it is recommended to use it only on a secondary account for testing purposes.
Beta version 2.2211.3 of WhatsApp for Desktop is now available in order to fix the bugs that have been reported so far. One of the bugs affected profile and group photos that weren’t showing up on the chat screen.
According to WABetaInfo, this bug has been fixed in the updated beta release, which now displays profile photos for both individuals and groups. The same fix will be included in the most recent stable release of WhatsApp Desktop and the Web client.
While we’re on the subject of Android beta testers, we’ve brought back the ability to stop and resume recording your voicemails. The UWP Stickers tab is also being tested on the Universal Windows Platform (UWP). In addition, all users now have access to multi-device support.
