The long-anticipated Always on Display may debut on the new iPhone 14 Pro

New reports claim that the Pro model of the upcoming iPhones from Apple will include an “Always On Display” because of an improved screen refresh rate.

GizmoChina reports that while the iPhone 13 Pro series came with a 120Hz refresh rate ProMotion display, Apple appears that this year’s iPhone 14 Pro models will also contain this display technology along with certain enhancements.

When it comes to the iPhone 13 Pro series, LTPO screens were used, which allowed for higher power economy by allowing for variable refresh rates.

ProMotion displays were able to conserve battery life by only providing fast frame rates when necessary. Only between 10Hz and 120Hz can be handled by the refresh rates of the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max’s ProMotion display.

It’s also possible to get products like OPPO and Samsung that have a maximum frequency of just 1 Hz.

According to the source, Ross Young, a well-known display analyst, believes that the next generation of iPhones will employ a ProMotion panel that can also refresh at 1Hz.

This could suggest that Apple’s forthcoming devices will have better functionality and longer battery lives thanks to this development. A standout among the more useful options is the Always On Display.

According to a recent source, Apple will release four new iPhone models this year. The devices include the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14, Pro, and the larger iPhone 14 Max.

Apple’s iPhone 14 and Pro models will have 6.1-inch screens, while the iPhone 14 Plus and Pro Plus models will have 6.7-inch displays.

However, Apple is rumoured to be phasing out the iPhone mini’s 5.4-inch screen.
